- Denzel Washington stars as the police chief of Banyan Key, a fictional town in south Florida. He has an affair with a woman who claims she is dying of cancer and steals money seized from drug dealers so that she can undergo a costly new treatment. When she and her husband appear to have been killed in an explosion at their home, the chief realizes he has been framed and tries to solve the case.
