- In this movie, Don Johnson plays a Vietnam veteran who has difficulty adjusting to civilian life. When he loses his job, he begins to relive the horror of his wartime experiences. University of Miami Film School alumnus George Fernandez wrote the screenplay, based on a play he wrote called Vietnam Trilogy. During the filming of Cease Fire, Don Johnson auditioned for a role in an upcoming TV pilot named “Gold Coast.” Johnson got the part, and the title later changed to “Miami Vice.”
