Risner Fine Art Collection

The Museum of Florida History is proud to present the Risner Fine Art Collection. This important new permanent collection currently features 180 artworks of Florida by 138 different artists. Predominately landscapes, these works of art document Florida’s natural beauty. The paintings span over a century and illustrate Florida’s varied terrain, including springs, caves, wetlands, and forests, covering the entire state from the Panhandle to the Keys, Pensacola to Miami, and the Everglades to North Florida farmland.

Thanks to the generosity of Florida resident and art collector Ron Risner, these works of art now belong to the people of Florida. Beginning in the mid-1990s, Mr. Risner collected these artworks to illustrate the value and beauty of natural Florida. A subset of the collection is composed of a representative artwork for each visual artist in the Florida Artists Hall of Fame, including all twenty-six Florida highwaymen artists.

The Risner Fine Art Collection was donated in honor of Linvel J. Risner, Marie Fieser Risner, Sandra Risner Phelps and Linvel L. Risner.
