Frostproof citrus farmer Frederick Flood sold his fruit at a roadside stand near his orange grove, along with these lures that he designed, patented, and made. He called his lure-making business the Florida Shinner [Shiner] Bait Company. On his lure boxes, Flood misspelled the word “shiner” as “shinner.”
