Miami Beach sportsman Aaron “Ernie” Woolfe was a native of England who came to Florida around 1925. He designed these shrimp lures using vinyl hair curlers for the body. He got the idea after noticing his daughter’s hair curler. Woolfe made and shipped the lures from a small production center on Miami Beach.
