Paul Takeshita was born in Hawaii and spent time as a youth in Japan. He moved to California in 1939. During World War II, Takeshita
was sent to a Japanese internment camp. In 1949, he and his family moved to Miami where he started the Do-All Bait Manufacturing Company, producing and selling a line of fishing lures. His brother operated Captain Cliff’s Bait and Tackle Shop in Miami, where some of the lures were sold. Takeshita later returned to California.
