DIRECTIONS

From I-10 east or west, follow signs to Pine Forest Road (Exit 2, Route 297). Using this exit, proceed approximately 1.5 miles to Blue Angel Parkway. Turn right on Blue Angel Parkway and travel twelve miles to the west gate of NAS Pensacola. Proceed through the gate for three miles to the museum on the left.

Established in 1962, the National Museum of Naval Aviation is one of the largest and most beautiful air and space museums in the world. Exhibits include over 140 restored aircraft representing Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Aviation.

The West Wing is devoted to WWII carrier aviation and includes a full-size replica of USS Cabot’s aircraft carrier island and flight deck. Several WWII aircraft including the F4U Corsair, SBD Dauntless, and F6F Hellcat are on display. The IMAX film, The Magic of Flight, can be viewed on a seven-story high screen and a motion-based flight simulator is also available. The human side of Naval Aviation is presented through the extensive use of personal memorabilia.

Annual symposium on topics related to WWII annually in early May.

Pearl Harbor Day Commemoration held each year on December 7.

Foundation Magazine, published semiannually by the Foundation, is filled with articles about naval aviation history from the early days to current happenings.

Fly By is the quarterly newsletter of the Foundation and is designed to provide membership updates.
