After the successful restoration in 1984, the Museum of Florida History operated the Union Bank as a museum. Since 1995, the Meek-Eaton Black Archives (MEBA) at Florida A&M University has operated the bank as a second site. Since then, MEBA has welcomed visitors for exhibits, history lectures, special events, and celebrations. In 2023, the Florida Department of State’s Division of Historical Resources refreshed the building, including a fresh coat of paint, wood and stucco repairs, and accessibility upgrades.

What once was a building constructed exclusively for the planter class now stands as a monument to what is possible when people work together. In celebration of this shared history, and a history from exclusion to inclusion, the Museum of Florida History in collaboration with the Meek-Eaton Black Archives presents this exhibition on the history of the Union Bank building for the people of Tallahassee and the State of Florida.
