Look New Crop
Fall begins orange-harvesting season for some of the many variety of oranges grown in the Sunshine State. This painting, "Look New Crop" by Margo Warren, 1999, shows visitors stopping by an orange grove to pick up some fresh Florida oranges.
Warren attended art school in Philadelphia and also studied textile design. In addition, she earned a degree in elementary education. She lived in New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey before moving to Florida about 1969. She taught school in Winter Haven until retirement in 1980. Warren then turned to painting full-time. Often her subjects include citrus groves, fishing, nature scenes, and the buildings of her neighborhood, such as this acrylic painting of an orange grove in the central Highlands Ridge of Florida.
