In 1971, Bertram Groene dedicated the proceeds of his book Ante-Bellum Tallahassee to the Florida Heritage Foundation for the preservation of historic Tallahassee buildings. In 1981, Groene donated sales from the second printing to the preservation of the Union Bank building.
