DIRECTIONS
Bay Pines VA Medical Center is located on the West Coast of Florida between St. Petersburg and Madeira Beach, across Tampa Bay from Tampa, Florida. When traveling by car south from Tampa, or north from Sarasota, take Interstate 275 to Exit 13 (38th Avenue North). Travel West, five (5) miles, to Tyrone Boulevard (ALT US 19A). Turn right (west) on Tyrone BLVD and travel toward the beaches. Turn left at either the second, or third traffic light to enter the facility
This site is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
Constructed by the Veterans Administration in 1933 in Mediterranean Revival Style as the 150-bed “Veterans Home.” This facility provided extensive medical care services to military personnel during the war.
Bay Pines VA Medical Center continues as a medical care provider for ailing veterans.
