DIRECTIONS
I-4 from Orlando, Exit 19 towards to stadium on left. I-4 from Tampa, Exit 18, US98 north to Griffin, left onto Lakeland Hills Boulevard and then turn right to stadium on left.
Located on what is today the winter home of the Detroit Tigers Baseball Team (Joker Marchant Stadium), the Lodwick School of Aeronautics operated one of its pilot training schools here. Coronet Airport, east of Plant City in Hillsborough County, served as an auxiliary field to this site.
While nothing remains of the Coronet site, several Quonset Huts and sections of runway are present on the Joker-Marchant site. In addition, a historic marker,erected in 1994, is adjacent to the Lakeland Parks & Recreation office building on this site.
