National Air Mail Week

National Air Mail Week took place May 15–21, 1938, to celebrate twenty years since the start of US air mail service and to promote use of air mail. The US Post Office encouraged cities and towns nationwide to come up with their own commemorative designs for covers and issued a new six cent air mail stamp for the occasion. National Air Mail Week was a great success.
