One Hundred Years of Florida Statehood
Florida became a state on March 3, 1845. These cacheted covers and their commemorative Florida Centennial stamps celebrate that milestone anniversary. The US Post Office issued the Florida Centennial stamp in Tallahassee on March 3, 1945. The additional stamps on the bottom cover may have been added for extra postage to send the cover by air mail and special delivery.
