First Man on the Moon
The commemorative First Man on the Moon stamp on this cover honors the first time an astronaut stepped from the Lunar Module onto the surface of the Moon, on July 20, 1969. It was the largest stamp the US Post Office had issued until that date. The unofficial “Moon Landing” postmark celebrates the event.
