- The underwater scenes of Mr. Peabody and the Mermaid were filmed at Weeki Wachee Spring. Newt Perry, Florida’s underwater swimming expert, coached Ann Blyth, the “mermaid,” for the water scenes. Nancy Tribble, of Tallahassee, one of the first Weeki Wachee “mermaids,” performed the more challenging feats.
