Anyone can be a volunteer. We are currently looking for:
Join the ranks of the Museum of Florida History Volunteers!
You do not need to have any prior experience or expertise. We will provide all necessary training.
We are looking for dedicated individuals to volunteer their time at all of our historic sites: Museum of Florida History Main Gallery, The Old Capitol Museum and Florida Center of Political History & Governance, and the historic Knott House Museum. Positions include Museum Docent, Researcher, Special Events Assistant, and many more.
All of our sites need friendly individuals to greet, orient, and direct visitors when they first arrive at the museum. If you are social and amicable, your services would be greatly appreciated.
If you have an outgoing personality and like to network, we would love to have you represent our sites by getting out into the community and promoting programs to local organizations, and at community functions.
If you love history and enjoy exploring books and archives, we need your help. The Museum of Florida History and the Knott House Museum can use volunteers to research and write for guide books and tour manuals.
All three sites require volunteers to give short introductions and/or conduct tours. If you enjoy learning and sharing knowledge with others, you could be a great asset to our team.
Educational Program Specialist
If you enjoy working with children, we are looking for help presenting our exciting new school programs at the Museum of Florida History.
Educational Program Developer
If you are a creative individual, you could be a valuable asset to the initial design and implementation of educational programs for both adults and children.
All three sites are currently seeking organized individuals to assist with office work. If you are interested in learning computer programs, all three sites can use your help with recordkeeping, data entry, and answering phones.
Design & Fabrication Assistant
If you are creative, enjoy building things, and/or have computer-based design and web skills, you could be a great asset to our Design & Fabrication team.
Do you enjoy cataloguing and data entry? If so, our Collections section is always looking for assistance managing records.
Special Events Assistant
If you would like to volunteer but don't have a great deal of time to dedicate, we can still use your help for seasonal and special events at all three of our sites. You can also check for other ongoing events such as workshops, exhibit openings, day camps, scout groups, and family programming.
If you are interested in volunteering at any of our sites, please contact:
