History at High Noon: Out of the Mouth of Babes: Children’s Voices in the Archives

This month's discuss will be presented by Lydia Nabors, Archivist, State Archives of Florida. The State Archives of Florida collect historically valuable documents in order to preserve the information for future generations. Often these documents are correspondence between governmental officials or examples of professionals sharing their opinions with the current administration. Little gems shine brightly between these records—those of the children voicing their own concerns to the Governor’s office. This small exploration into children’s voices found in the archives sheds light on the junior citizens in our society and how they capture historic moments in their correspondence. Please note the Museum is currently seeking a new operator for the café and food is not available for purchase at this time. Food and drink are not permitted in the Museum theater. Before or after the program, be sure to visit the Museum of Florida History and Florida’s History Shop to see what’s new! The program is free and open to the public.
