Present Landscapes, Past Peoples: Revisiting Archaeological Mounds of the Tallahassee Region Please join the Florida Department of State, Bureau of Archaeological Research, and the Museum of Florida History for a series of talks and tours celebrating Florida Archaeology Month Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Learn about the many prehistoric Indian mounds of the Tallahassee Region. Lectures on Velda Mound, Letchworth Mounds, Lake Jackson Mounds, and others presented by top scholars in the field. Opportunities to ask archaeologists questions in the Museum of Florida History as well as tour the Florida Bureau of Archaeological Research's Conservation Laboratory. Parking and admission are free.
