History at High Noon: Grit Tempered II: Famous Women in Florida Archaeology


Barbara Clark, Director of Northwest Region of the Florida Public Archaeology Network, will discuss five Florida women who have made significant contributions to our knowledge of the past: Kathleen Deagan (St. Augustine), Judy Bense (Pensacola), Bonnie McEwan (Tallahassee), Rebecca Saunders (Amelia Island) and Nancy White (Gulf Coast). The program will begin with a special recognition of Department of State female archaeologists and your efforts in preserving Florida’s past, by Tim Parsons, Director of Historical Resources. March 26, 2019 Noon–12:45 p.m. Presented in the Museum of Florida History theater Please note the Museum is currently seeking a new operator for the café and food is not available for purchase at this time. Food and drink are not permitted in the Museum theater. Before or after the program, be sure to visit the Museum of Florida History and Florida’s History Shop to see what’s new! The program is free and open to the public.
