The Museum offers three History Kits that teachers can borrow to complement and enliven classroom instruction. Filled with objects, books, films, prepared activities, and a teacher manual, each kit explores social studies concepts and satisfies Next Generation State Standards. Although targeted for specific grades, the inquiry trunks can be used with audiences of all ages. Kits are available for $20 a two-week period. My Symbols, My State, My Florida—grades K–3 This kit explores the concept of symbolism by learning about representations of Florida. The Civil War—grades 4–9 Florida’s role in the Civil War and life on the home front are examined with artifacts, maps, and activities. World War II—grades 4–12 Students discover the impacts of WWII on Florida during and after the conflict.
